A Greenbrae Whole Home Remodel Full of Charm

Meet our Coastal Cottage project! Located on a beautiful tree-lined street in the flats of Greenbrae, this home was purchased in original condition and needed a lot of love. Our clients, a family of five with active kiddos in elementary and middle school + a dog, hired our Larkspur interior design team to completely transform the home. They envisioned a cozy, inviting, family-friendly home with plenty of charm.

We added special details throughout to create a charming modern cottage family home that feels elevated.

In the mudroom, we designed a built-in cabinet with a section for each kid. They each have dedicated space to store their shoes, hang jackets + backpacks, keep the gear for their current activities, and charge their laptops for school the next day.

From the wallpaper, to the special millwork, to the pretty vanity, the powder bathroom is filled with so many charming details. It's hard to believe the kitchen once stood where the mudroom + powder bath now are.

The daughter's bathroom is equally charming with a light pink vanity, wavy rattan mirror and unlacquered brass + polished nickel finishes.

The kitchen was moved to the center of the expanded home, where it is now truly the heart of the home. We chose a combination of white and sage green cabinetry in the kitchen and layered in some wood elements to add interest + warmth.

Just off the kitchen we added a built-in dining hutch that pulls double duty. The piece stores glassware + serving items and also acts as the family command center - where they can store permission slips and other papers to be addressed and stay on top of the busy daily pace of family life.

The primary bath is now a relaxing retreat, complete with a custom vanity and beautiful soaking tub.

This whole home remodel was a fun one to design! We loved adding unique + special details to create a charming coastal cottage style home.
