These girls’ bathrooms were created for families with young daughters who wanted something sweet now, that would still be timeless as they grow. Soft touches of pink keep it playful without going overboard with just the right balance of fun + fresh.

Proof that thoughtful upgrades go a long way. At our Creek View project, we paired a prefab vanity with statement wallpaper + custom millwork to create a whole new look while keeping budget priorities in check.

A week of rest was exactly what we needed after a very full November! Three projects wrapped, four days of photoshoots completed, one new project launched, and lots of design progress behind the scenes. Ready for the final push of 2025!

Forever and always fans of built-in cabinetry that serves more than one function. This custom hutch in the dining room at our Coastal Cottage project in Greenbrae serves double duty as the mom's family command center + extra storage for serving pieces and a surface for placing food and drinks when hosting. We're all about thoughtful design and making every inch of your home serve how your family lives.

Meet our Creekside Project!
This Larkspur family wanted bathrooms that feel serene and elevated, with materials that can stand up to daily life. The result: a soft, calming primary bath retreat with all of the luxury hotel amentities, thoughtfully designed kids’ baths built to grow with them, and a major glow up for the powder bath. We also refreshed their home office with a custom built-in desk + craft cabinet and new furnishings + lighting.

Team green is a neutral color! Love the green color of this vanity and how it adds interest to the space. And before you ask, I so wish we knew the exact color, but the cabinet base was prefab.⁣

In this Tiburon home, we designed the family room for the best of both worlds: cocktail parties and everyday family living. Pitched ceilings and sweeping bay views give every arrival that instant “wow” moment, and the kid-friendly furnishings work both for adult parties and snuggling up as a family to watch a movie.⁣

When it comes to finishing tile edges, we always skip the Schluter and go for mitered edges. It creates a seamless, high-end look that feels custom + timeless. You'll know the tile installer is experienced and dedicated to their craft when there's no pushback on mitering the tile! No metal trim, just clean lines and beautiful craftsmanship. #tiletuesday⁣

September was busy! With the kids in back school for a full month, we have settled back into our normal schedules and routines. This month we had lots of design presentations, site visits + installs. Excited to see how our projects progress through the end of the year!

We're always designing with families in mind! We look to source high quality performance fabrics that will withstand every day life without having to sacrifice design. ⁣

Paint colors are something we get asked about a lot, and where people often feel stuck. These are some of our go-to white paints that work in almost any space! As always, painted swatches on multiple walls (and reviewing them throughout the day/night in different light) is the best way to finalize the decision.⁣

For busy families, we love an appliance garage to corral small appliances - think blenders, toasters, coffee makers, air fryers, and snack stations. Instead of clutter, you get calm.⁣

The tall cabinet next to the paneled fridge in our Coastal Cottage project provided that extra space to keep everything organized, accessible and hidden.⁣

We're big believers that you don't always need to start from scratch when remodeling a space. Sometimes the layout and certain pieces work, and swapping out the finishes will completely refresh the space. Here we kept the overall layout and the original vanities - which were painted a soft sage green. Updating everything else gave this bathroom a completely different feel (swipe for before!).⁣

A favorite before/after - because it really shows the impact of thoughtful, functional design. This large space off the entry of our clients' home was used as a playroom and we saw the potential of making it more multi-purpose while still being the boys' main hang out space. Now with a large custom built-in, built-in desk, and comfy furniture, the space functions as a kids' playroom, study space, and secondary living room for entertaining.⁣

One of my favorite kitchen facelifts of all time (as seen in Marin Magazine). Swipe to see the power of thoughtfully updating a kitchen without gutting it. Since we kept the original cabinets (and painted + stained them) and most of the appliances, we were able to stretch our clients' budget and make additional updates throughout the home.⁣

The 3 common design mistakes we see, and how to avoid them.⁣
⁣
1. Scale is off. It's important to take in account the size of your room (including ceiling height), and the scale of what's nearby. Otherwise the space will just feel off.⁣
⁣
2. Too much stuff/not enough storage. To keep your home feeling calm, routinely go through your belongings and donate anything that isn't a must keep. Everything remaining should have a "home" within your home. Closed storage is your friend.⁣
⁣
3. Being aspirational instead of realistic. When making design decisions, don't plan too far ahead - it's important to consider your family's current life stage. Whether that means choosing the right construction materials or the right furnishings, make decisions by considering how you *actually* live in your home.⁣

Also critical to reducing weekday stress once school is back in session: a family command center. Having a spot in your home to keep track of your day to day family schedule and the random paperwork (why are permission slips still printed on paper??) helps school mornings run much more smoothly too.⁣

Our favorite way to ease the morning mayhem of getting to school is an organized mudroom with dedicated space for everything your kids need. Even if you don't have the space to carve out a room in your home, a mudroom corner or organized entry cabinet also works wonders!⁣

The mudroom at our Coastal Cottage project has a section for each kid to stash their gear - with hooks, a storage basket, ventilated shoe drawer, and an outlet to charge their chromebook overnight.⁣

At a recent kickoff meeting, our client mentioned wanted two niches in her kids' bathroom because she expects her son + daughter to use different products as they get older. We talk through want to need to store in each space we're working on, so that we can design spaces that are not only beautiful, but super functional too.⁣
