Jobs

Design Assistant / Project Manager

The Design Assistant or Project Manager is a critical role where you’ll be rolling up your sleeves and involved in every step of the process - from client onboarding, to procurement and order tracking, to the photoshoot at the end of the project. We're looking for someone who loves design, is very detail oriented and process-driven, and is a self-starter who can take an idea and run with it. The role will be shaped depending on experience, and could include technical drawings and designing spaces for the right person.

The position is remote in the Bay Area, with the need to attend client meetings in person 1-2 times per week on average. Our projects are primarily in Marin County, San Francisco, and the East Bay. This is a part time position with potential to grow into full time in the future.

Responsibilities include:

  • Attending all kickoff meetings to take detailed measurements, notes, and pictures

  • Assisting with design presentation creation and sourcing

  • Attending design presentation meetings, capturing notes, and creating feedback forms

  • Managing the procurement process, including ordering and tracking all items, and managing any issues that arise

  • Managing the installation process, including scheduling with the warehouse, handyman, and other trades

  • Assisting with photoshoots and styling

Additional responsibilities depending on experience may include:

  • Creating floor plans, elevations, custom furniture drawings, and technical drawings

  • Creating construction books for construction projects with detailed finish schedules and elevations

  • Helping to source and put together designs

  • Assisting with marketing, including social media

About you:

  • A self starter and problem solver with strong attention to detail

  • Stellar communication and customer service skills

  • Interest in interior design with a good eye

  • Easily learn new technology (we rely on a lot of tech!)

  • Flexibility to help with other tasks as needed

  • Reliable car and able to lift 25 pounds if needed (mileage is reimbursed at the federal rate)

We'd love to hear from you! Please email your resume, cover letter, and portfolio (if applicable) to gina@californiadaydreams.com. Local Bay Area applicants only.
