California Daydreams is a full-service residential interior design firm based in Larkspur, California, specializing in creating functional, deeply thoughtful family homes designed for real life. Our signature style is inspired by the beauty of California - approachable, intentional, and layered with natural elements. We work with families throughout Marin County to reimagine their home, whether through a remodel, new build, or furnishings.
We are a tight-knit, collaborative team that prides itself on professionalism, warmth, and an elevated client experience. We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented Interior Designer who is drawn to our aesthetic to join our studio.
Interior Designer
Larkspur, California | Part-Time, approx 25 - 35 hours/week
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Interior Designer will closely collaborate with our Principal Designer on the design of our projects. The ideal candidate is a creative team player who will be responsible for all technical drawings and putting together the design plans. You must be able to work both independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities

Collaborate on all projects from initial moodboards to completion

Draft floorplans, elevations + renderings

Create design plans based on project scope, desired aesthetic + functional needs

Source hard and soft finishes within project budgets

Coordinate detailed design specs with vendors

Assist with client and vendor communication, timelines + budgets
Qualifications

2+ years in residential interior design (3-5+ years preferred)

SketchUp proficiency is required

Working knowledge of residential California building code

A strong eye for interior design + spatial planning

Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to multitask

Strong communication, time management, project management, and customer service skills

Experience with Canva, ClickUp, Dubsado and/or Programa a plus

Able to lift up to 20 pounds if needed (for photoshoots and installs)

Part-time, hourly position based in our Larkspur, CA office, approximately 25 - 35 hours per week

This position has flexibility for additional responsibilities based on experience and skills. Competitive pay, dependent on experience.
