Calistoga Weekend

If there was ever a weekend that I’d hit the pause and rewind button for, our recent trip to Solage Resort in Calistoga would be it. My brother in law generously gifted us a stay at Solage for our wedding, and after a fantastic time, it’s definitely up there with one of my favorite gifts ever. The weather in the Bay Area has been hit or miss over the past couple months, so I was beyond excited for an unseasonably hot spring weekend while we were in Calistoga.

We left San Francisco early and stopped at Long Meadow Ranch for breakfast paninis and coffee in their outdoor cafe. It was the perfect place to spend a slow morning hanging out in the sun below a giant spruce tree and exploring the property. I’m adding their restaurant Farmstead to my must-eat list – I hope to be back for lunch or dinner soon.

After our visit to Long Meadow Ranch we made our way up to Calistoga and checked in at Solage. The resort is beautiful with white roses everywhere and a great pool. Exploring Calistoga by bike and sipping wine were our priorities for the day.

Each suite comes with two bikes and there are plenty of tasting rooms and wineries an easy bike ride away. I’ve always wine tasted by car or limo, so it was different and so nice to explore the area on a bike and take in the gorgeous scenery. We visited Lava Vine, Tank, T-Vine and Brian Arden and each one was very different but great! If you’re staying at Solage, ask the concierge to tell Tank and T-Vines you’re planning to visit and they’ll comp your tasting fees. We ended the day sipping wine on the porch at Brian Arden which was peaceful and relaxing.

We had two great meals at Solbar, the restaurant at Solage and I definitely recommend going for either dinner or brunch even if you’re not staying there. If you go for brunch the cinnamon and sugar donut holes are a must!

On Sunday we spent the entire day poolside – reading, relaxing, swimming and enjoying frozen beer while watching the Warriors at the pool bar.

It was an amazing weekend and we definitely made the most of our time in Calistoga. Can’t wait to visit again soon!
